Some Key Points Include:

  • Sign up for an account. This is a free process and will include cloud storage so you can access your information on any device. The account is free up to 300 MB which is more than enough when using Zotero for citation information.
  • Always double check the citation information once it is uploaded into Zotero. Make sure things such as page numbers and all authors transferred over so your citations are correct.
  • Take advantage of tags/folders to sort your references to make finding them when writing your paper easier. Sort them by project, themes, time period, etc. Use whatever works best for your research.

Zotero in a Word Document

Some Key Points Include:

  • Open Zotero before opening Microsoft Word so Zotero is properly linked.
  • Any changes to citations must be done in Zotero. Do not try to save them in Word as they will continue to revert back to the information found in Zotero.
